Norwegian election 0914

The Norwegian Labor-party and it`s three-party left-wing coalition won 86 seats in the 169-seat Parliament. That would give it just enough margin to continue as the only left-of-center government in Scandinavia and one of the few remaining in western Europe...nice!

Vestkapp / Westcape

This is the view from Vestkapp on a nice day!! At Vestkapp , furthest west of Norway , you will find the worst and the best of weather conditions, the very best view and, glimpses of unique history and cultural heritage.

Best of all, it is only a 2-hour drive from where I live, so it is a nice day-trip when weather and time permits.

The comeback-kid

The Scana soccer-team started the fall-season this week. We lost 11-2, but I`m kinda positive about it still, as it was the first time I played soccer since my ski-accident.

Almost done for now, 2 weeks has gone by so fast!

My friend Kim, who is visiting from the US, is leaving on Sat. so I have no idea what to do shen she has left.

Yay..I`ve now moved to my new apartment!! It`s been hectic moving all my stuff.. but hopefully I will enjoy my new place. Pictures will follow...

Nor-Shipping 2009

This years fair was one of the biggest in its history, over 1050 exhibitors.

Our stand was popular, and the fair was the ideal place to showcase our products. Or, at least when a contract is coming our way we know it was :) It was lots of fun, but it was also good to be back home...my feet were killing me!

Norwegian Wood 06112009

The concert was just brilliant!

At the age of 63, Mr. Young&Loud still knows how to rock! The audience was very loud, and sang along on most of the songs. I got there early, so I stood in the front row and had an excellent view.

Neil Young / Nor-Shipping 2009

Yeeehaw...only 2 days until Neil Young goes onstage in Frognerparken, Oslo.

Also, I will spend the rest of the week in Oslo at a shipping-fair (www.nor-shipping.com). Scana Volda (my employer) will have a stand there along with around 1050 other companies (!) from around 50 countries.

I will bring my camera and try to take some pictures.

Summer..spring...or?

Funny thing... MY calendar reads June now, but these last few days we have had fresh snow in the mountains and cold weather here. I went on a hike on Tuesday, and I encountered a hail-storm! Global warming? Yeah right!!

Who wants to be a millionaire?

I do I do I do.... Sorry to disappoint you guys....I have bought an apartment, so in fact I OWE over a million (NOK that is!!!)..

But, I`m happy with my decision to invest now with the low interest and nervous real-estate market here. It gave me the opportunity to get a price I can afford and still be able to have a life ;)

Funny thing....

I consider myself to be quite the music-snob(!), and I was puzzled the other day when I caught myself playing some Taylor Swift-tunes on my guitar. Does this mean that I have to confess that I am a fan of this American country-pop singer-songwriter who is #1 just about worldwide right now?
While I refuse to admit that I have changed from a music-snob to a "mainstreammusic-listener", I guess I`m not so sharp around the edges anymore.











PS! I have d***loaded the Taylor Swift-album now.... ;)

Wounded Knee

I had big plans for this Easter. One of my goals was to go skiing as often as possible.

(This could have been) me having a great time doing off-piste skiing down the mountainsides.

Instead, this happened:

I had an accident while doing off-piste skiing at Bondalseidet ski-resort. I`m not sure what happened, but the result was a very swollen right knee.

Damaged ligaments/cartilage and strained ligaments. Now I`m limping around on crutches and I have 8 weeks recovery ahead of me.

That`s the end of my season, and hopefully I will be able to play soccer in June...argh, the frustration.
